Anything is possible, but be aware that this modal has been requested by several users.
This display is however present on several modern forum too.
I would make an option in the FlatBBeditor plugin to display or not as a modal.

That would be great. I'm evaluation several forum software and flatboard seems cool, but I'm looking for a solution that I don't have to tune up a lot and having to change flatboard templaes does not check that box. I don't want to be messing with that in every update.
Honestly I can't understand under what circunstances a frame is a good idea for a reply box.
